family in autumn

the last month has been full of family time, enjoying the fall weather, and preparing to leave for new zealand and then austria. we visited charlie and jocelyn who are currently living in churchill, canada. google it. it’s the legit tundra. where canada meets the ocean. where polar bears roam, and probably where the ‘baby beluga’ song was inspired.  jocelyn is working as an RN at the hospital there and charlie is working for the canadian airline calmair. here are some shots from our visit

we are so thankful we were able to see charlie and jocelyn while they are living in such a unique place! we were also able to spend time with my admirable brother calvin and his delightful fiance melanie over this time.

we can’t wait for their wedding next summer and neither can they!

finally, we’ve spent our last few days with the mainlands. we met our nephew for the first time and got to snuggle with our niece, who are currently living in texas. melissa, chris’ older sister, and her husband jon visited with their children for the wedding of our stunning, artistic cousin faryn and our friend, talented and hilarious jason.

chris’ youngest sister, jesse came back from moody in spokane with her boyfriend nick for the wedding as well. (they met in new zealand last year!) what a joy-filled time we’ve had with our families.

we’re also savoring our few weeks of fall. as we leave the northern hemisphere we will be entering spring!
