The four of us together hanging out in mine and Chris’ room 🙂
It was such a blessing to spend the weekend with Charlie and Joc. Family is a huge comfort and it was fun to see Salzburg together, as well as show them our little corner of Austria tucked away in the mountains. They are currently on a European adventure, and we are so thankful they stopped by to see us here!
We met them in Salzburg and stayed the night in a cool little hostel up on a cliff just above Old Town…
Though it was raining we had a little picnic under the umbrella outside with an awesome view of the Fortress.
We ventured out and enjoyed the romantic home of Mozart and The Sound of Music…
Jocelyn is not only my sister, but also one of my best friends… we are so thankful for each day we spend with them… isn’t she pretty??!!?!? Out hostel was actually up on the cliff at the top of this next photo…
Charlie likes to wait till I’m just about to take a picture… and dance in the way… this is not the only one
After a day in Salzburg we took the train to Schladming where Chris and I are living. We hiked around the local area…

Here is Charlie… dancing in my picture again
We hiked up along several waterfalls to a suspension bridge… Joc and I were nervous… and then she said this quote… and we saw a kid sprint across the scary bridge…
This is actually such good advice, and Charlie and Jocelyn have been an incredible example and inspiration to Chris and I. They are not afraid to dream, to work hard and to chase after adventure. They moved to the arctic of Canada for two years, with Polar Bears and Beluga Whales in their back yard, and are now making their way around the most exciting places in Europe. But they don’t just love adventure, they are passionately pursing God and are both confidently called by Him into the careers they are pursuing. We are so encouraged by them and SO love the rare time we have together. When people go before you (or go with you) doing scary things becomes MUCH less difficult.
We went out for some local delicious food at a little Austrian Hutte. Home cooked and super charming atmosphere.
Here is one final (really good quality from the iphone) shot of the four of us together!!!
Moral of the story… love them… and you should come visit us in Austria too!!!
