Bible School has begun again here at Tauernhof.
It has been a week since our 70-some students arrived, and what a full week it was! I don’t know if I can express how good it feels to be back at Tauernhof, and to be in the full swing of Fall School. Though Chris and I are passionate about our Communications work for Torchbearers, and really feel that is our calling, we are so humbled and thrilled that God is using us during this time to come along side these students. It is SUCH a privilege, and we are very thankful for the opportunity. Our first weekend outing was a hike in our area, and I was able to go with the students while Chris played soccer with a visiting ministry from England. If you just looked at our pictures you might think we are always outside, when in actuality we spend a lot of time sitting at desks planning, grading homework, or meeting with the students. But we are trying to enjoy the outdoors as much as we can before it gets really cold and the only way to enjoy it is to ski. 🙂 although we did have a little frosting just at the very top of the mountains last week as you can see in the picture above.
What a joy it has been to join journeys with the students for this time. Chris and I are finding more and more that the journey is truly more beautiful when shared, and walking with the students is no exception.
Many times on this journey it feels as if we are leading the students…
While at other times we get to observe and witness the journey they are on with Christ from a distance
And then other times we can sit back and enjoy the view together
Many of the students have had a profound encounter with Christ already- and have so much to share with us on this journey.
It just hit me that it has been a year exactly since Chris and I left for New Zealand and started this wild journey. Though we had started working for Torchbearers about 9 months earlier, this was a time where we really felt the Lord calling us out, to leave it all behind and trust Him without fear. With our money, with our future, our friends and family, our plans- it was and has continued to be a time of surrender of all those things. We started this blog a year ago, wrote some letters, spent all the money we had on plane tickets to New Zealand and trusted that this was His plan, that He would provide.
I am blown away at how faithful He has been to us in the past year. I suppose it is because there are still times when I doubt Him, but even more so I was amazed over and over at the many different ways that God chose to provide for us, speak to us, and lead us. He used many of you.
Thank you.
Thank you loving us, for encouraging us, praying for us and believing in us. Thank you to so many of you who have given to us financially and made it possible for us to be here. We are so blessed. Thank you.
