torchbearing.

Its hard to let go of the future, and entrust God with our desires and the unknown. But He has been teaching us through this last year to Trust Him – through the times where Carly was sick and we didn’t know what to do, or when no opportunity at a Torchbearer center had come up and we didn’t know if being in Colorado working for Torchbearers was the right thing to do. But then we heard from Tauernhof in Austria, just as Carly’s health was improving, and soon later, it too became clear to go to NZ to do BML and work on projects with Dave before Austria. In His perfect timing, God constantly shows us that He knows His plans for us already and will take care of us.

The Lord certainly calls us all, to certain jobs, careers, relationships, places, etc. – and He also provides for all our needs to do that work which He has called us to. Christ wants to live His life through us, that we would show His light to the world. We just need to be available and willing where we are. And “being torchbearers” (Not just those of us who work with “Torchbearers”, but all of you guys, the Church) we have the privilege of sharing Christ with the people we work with, the people who make our coffee, those we see at Church, our friends and family. Christ – who is the light of life.

We are no different. God has called us to work with Torchbearers, and we may get to live in some cool places but our work is not any more important than what you do. Whether your job is making a coffee at Starbucks, working in the E.R., taking care of kids or building machines. What is wonderfully important and special about all of your jobs, and your relationships, hobbies, dreams… is that you get to do all these things unto the Lord. Where we are is an opportunity for God to work in us and through us, that others may be drawn to Christ because they see Him in you. God dwells in us! And we get to share Him with the world. You are just as much missionaries as we are, and we are excited about serving together with you – us, here at Torchbearers, you, in the place you are.
