a few short weeks

Though being in Wisconsin is really ‘in between’ where we are the rest of the year, sometimes it feels like this is home, where we’re supposed to be, and the rest of the year is just ‘in between’ the time we have here.

Seeing family and friends has been wonderful and refreshing, and here we are, ready to take off again. we are SO blessed.

IMG_0206We got to see my three best girls from Moody on our way back to Wisconsin. what a joy! Each moment with these precious sisters was treasured. Especially as we watched April make vows to a very lucky guy and begin her journey as a married woman.

And how precious are each and every moment with Chris’ sister Melissa, her husband John, and our much-loved little niece and nephew. Seriously our hearts (and eyes) swell whenever we get to hold them in our own arms and play with them. Pictures and Skype just can’t compare.

Then we had a few weeks with each side of our family in Wisconsin. Though it seems like it’s never enough time, we are learning to just be grateful for each moment and day together. And we remember again that there is no such thing as ‘in between’ moments, as if they are more or less significant. Being present each day, in every moment is an art, and we are learning.

Our time with Chris’ side of the family was sweet, we have an amazing family who overwhelm us with love and support. We are so thankful for them.

And we had a rare week with my family, with every one home. My brother and his wife came down from Canada so we could throw a shower for my younger brother’s soon-to-be wife. We are so thrilled she is joining our family!

Once Cal and Mel get married it will be official. I will have the best sister-in-laws in the world! I am so thankful for Chris’ sisters, and Β there aren’t any women on the planet that I would want my brothers to be married to more than these two.

We are ALL together so rarely that we look forward to weeks like this last with MUCH anticipation. Thankfully, with the coming wedding, it won’t be too long before we are all together again.

We leave for Europe today. It is still pretty hard to believe, and we appreciate your prayers as we travel.
